    What is a fiberglass pool?

    A fiberglass pool is made in one piece from fiberglass-reinforced plastic, making it extremely strong, watertight, and resistant to cracks. The surface is covered with a gelcoat layer that makes the pool both smooth and hygienic, minimizing algae growth and making cleaning easy.

    Quick installation and long lifespan

    Unlike concrete or liner pools, a fiberglass pool can be installed quickly. Since the pool shell is delivered ready-made, installation can often be completed in just a few days. This means less digging, fewer workdays – and you can start enjoying your new pool much sooner.

    Additionally, a fiberglass pool has a very long lifespan. With proper care, it lasts 30 years or more without needing to replace the liner or renovate the surface.

    Polyester is a material that slowly allows water molecules to pass through over time, and it is generally estimated that it takes about a year for water molecules to penetrate one layer of polyester before starting to penetrate the next layer. An inexpensive fiberglass pool is often made from this material.

  • Vinylester


    Vinylester is a material that also allows water molecules to pass through, but this process takes much longer than with polyester. It is estimated to take about 20 years for vinylester to let water molecules through. A more expensive fiberglass pool is often made from this material. The innermost layer in a fiberglass pool is called gelcoat and is what gives the pool its color. Gelcoat is manufactured both in Europe and Australia, but the best gelcoat is made in Australia.
